Each of these plants has its own unique properties that help to calm the body and mind and pave the way for a deep and restful sleep . The passionflower was used by the indigenous people of South America to relieve sleep disorders and nervousness . Its flowering parts contain flavonoids and alkaloids, among others. The roots of the valerian contain valeric acid , among other things, which is considered to have a calming effect. Lemon balm leaf extracts are traditionally used to calm and relax . The essential oils they contain are considered particularly valuable. Lavender oil is widely known for aromatherapy for relaxation. It contains linalool and linalyl acetate , which are said to have calming properties. The herbal formula with highly pure melatonin has a pleasant berry taste. With just 2 sprays 30 minutes before going to bed, it is easy to use and easier to absorb through the mucous membranes. Melatonin is a hormone produced by the body which plays a central role in regulating the sleep-wake cycle and influences our natural day-night rhythm . Synthesis takes place in the pineal gland in the brain and depends on the amount of light that falls into the eyes. When it gets darker, the melatonin level in the body rises and gives the signal to prepare for sleep . The body temperature drops and you become tired. Melatonin promotes sleep quality and enables deeper, more restful sleep. A melatonin deficiency, on the other hand, quickly becomes noticeable . The most common symptoms are sleep disorders and lack of sleep, as well as a disturbed night-day rhythm. Those affected are tired and chronically exhausted during the day .
